About
I’m Irini Kalogeropoulou. I am an interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and arts educator based in Athens, Greece. I hold a bachelor's degree in Theatre Studies from NKUA and an MA in Performing Public Space from Fontys Academy of the Arts in Tilburg, Netherlands. Additionally, I have graduated with distinction from the Hellenic Conservatory of Athens with a Piano Soloist Diploma. My work focuses on sound art and contextual practices in public space, exploring themes such as grief, absence, memory, urban dynamics, and the nuances of everyday life. Through my practice, I interrogate the political and poetic dimensions of listening, framing sound as both a catalyst for critical reflection and a means of exploring spatial and sensory relationships. My practice also involves participatory and community art methodologies, aiming to create platforms for dialogue and foster alternative social imaginaries. I am passionate about creating immersive experiences that blur the boundaries between art and life, challenging the traditional roles of performers and audiences.
